MMIS and Huron Present "Proactive Notification and Dispute Resolution" at CBI Medical Device Compliance Congress June 4, 2013
The 9th Annual Medical Device and Diagnostics Compliance Conference began today, June 4, 2013, in Arlington Virginia.
MMIS Inc. CEO and President Michaeline Daboul and Huron Life Sciences Managing Director Mark Linver held a morning presentation titled, "Communication and Knowledge Management for Transparency HCP Relationships."
This session explained the importance of transparency between physicians and medical device manufacturers. Daboul and Linver stressed proactive notification and dispute resolution workflows regarding Sunshine Act aggregate spend reporting.
“Dealing with spend transaction disputes, tracking the spend information, changing the spend amounts, and providing accurate reporting is a huge and time consuming issue for companies, and it is not going away” Daboul said. “CMS (The Centers for Medicare and Medicaid) is required to give a 45 day review period before posting information on the a publicly available, searchable, and downloadable website, but systems and solutions for monitoring spend and disputes need to be put in place long before that time.”
